CREATING BESPOKE INTERIOR DESIGNS
My designs aim to achieve a tailor made, unique solution to each individual project.
Through careful analysis of a project's requirements and designing in response to those parameters, I create interiors that engage with their inhabitants and enrich the user's experience.
This is done through a series of steps - outlined below - with the requirement for Client feedback at each stage.
1. ESTABLISHING A BRIEF
The briefing stage begins with a site visit to discuss with the Client what the design needs to achieve. An agreed direction at stage is critical to ensuring a 'perfect fit'.
2. CONCEPT PRESENTATION
After establishing a Brief I create and present a Concept Design which provides a general 'look + feel' through a series of presentation boards, which may contain sketches, reference images, indicative finishes and furniture styles.
3. DESIGN DEVELOPMENT PRESENTATION
Feedback from the Concept Presentation is incorporated into a more resolved and refined design. This is presented via visuals and with proposal of specific finishes, fittings and furniture.
4. DETAILING + DOCUMENTATION
The agreed Design is turned into a series of technical drawings and documents that allow a builder to cost, and ultimately build the design. These include plans, elevations, detailed sections and finishes, fitting and furniture schedules.
5. CONTRACT ADMINISTRATION
During the building process dialogue is maintained with the builder to ensure an optimal outcome. This can include review of tender documents and liaising with the Contractor during the building period to resolve any queries that might arise from the building process. This final step ensures the delivery of the project in line with the original design intent.
